Score 91/100 · Drink 2020-2036, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2019
The 2016 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Fèves offers up aromas of dark berry fruit, baking chocolate, potpourri, exotic spices and smoked meats, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy palate with powdery structuring tannins and a generous core of sapid fruit. This is a strong showing for this Chandon monopole.

More withheld than their Clos des Mouches tasted immediately beforehand. Loads of weight and intensity on the palate with rich fruit and a long, spicy finish. Has the proportions of a Gevrey – tight, punchy, long-lived. (RH)
