Rocking honeyed pineapple, caramelized peach, spice, and brioche notes all emerge from the 2019 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol, a rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated Saint-Péray that develops more salinity and minerality with time in the glass. I love its overall balance, and while it's drinking great today, it has a solid decade of prime drinking ahead of it. First created in 1999 as a collaboration with sommelier Daniel Denis (of Lyon), it comes from 80-year-old vines planted in limestone soils and is aged in a mix of 228- and 400-liter barrels, 30% of which are new.

Dense and concentrated, the 2019 Saint Peray Fleur de Crussol is a full-bodied, distilled-down version of Saint-Péray from 80-year-old vines, with intense pear, melon and citrus shadings, plus hints of crushed stone and pencil shavings. Richly textural, it finishes on notes of citrus zest and brine. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.
