Derived as usual from Sur le Clos, Billaud's perennially overperforming 2020 Petit Chablis delivers aromas of fresh bread, citrus zest, oyster shell and youthful reduction, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and chiseled palate that combines flesh and cut to compelling effect. It's bottled under Diam.
Due to be bottled in September 2021 and not racked, the 2020 Petit Chablis Sur Les Clos has a gentle, undergrowth-tinged bouquet that unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is fresh, zesty and nicely poised, with a precise, citrus-fresh finish. A very capable Petit Chablis.
About the producer

Samuel Billaud started making wine under his own name in 2009, but he is one of the most experienced producers in Chablis, having made wine in the region since 1985.
