Drink 0-0, David Schildknecht, Vinous
Pungently mineral, even flinty in the nose, with rich suggestions of tropical fruits behind that. (One has to believe in a connection with the tropical fruit character of the best Mittelrhein sites because Schlossberg features, along with slate, the same quartzite as the Mittelrhein.) In the mouth there is a bright but very well-buffered rush of lemony acids along with tropical fruits, nut oils and citrus. This wine exhibits an oily texture and real grip without any bitterness. Complex, complete and composed. Potential 2 stars.
