Tasted blind. Dark crimson. Fresh, lively nose. Rich and racy. Complete and well balanced with real vitality. (JR)

The 2015 Château Soutard shows plenty of oak, yet offers ample crème de cassis, toasted spice, raspberry jam and licorice aromatics. Medium-bodied, supple and polished on the palate, with ripe tannin, tons of charming fruit, and sweet tannin, it's a ripe, sexy wine that also has rock solid elegance and purity.

One of the first wines to be offered en primeur – at a confident premium on 2014. Very dark indeed. Overripe nose. Then a little mean and tight on the palate. Unexpected! Awkward and demanding. (JR)
