Good deep red. Roasted, almost tarry aromas of liqueur-like red fruits and licorice; reminded me of a Bonneau wine. Sweet, large-scaled and gamey, showing the extreme side of the vintage. Finishes with huge, palate-coating tannins. This may go on for many years in bottle but it will always be in a distinctly Chateauneuf du Pape style.

Full, deep ruby-red. Sexy aromas of black fruits, minerals, flowers and exotic spices. Hugely ripe and sweet but structured and not over the top. Rather oaky today in the middle palate. Finishes with major, broad tannins and a lingering note of black licorice. This may well last a long time in bottle due to its sheer strength of material. The alcohol here is 14.8%.
