Tasting notes
As to the bottled 2020s, the 2020 Gigondas Tradition has lots of strawberry and ripe red berry fruits, some dried flowers, sandalwood, and spicy notes, medium-bodied richness, and a classic yet elegant, seamless style that will evolve for 10-12 years. You could do a lot worse than a case of this in the cellar.

Brilliant ruby. Intensely perfumed cherry, raspberry and lavender aromas show excellent clarity and a hint of white pepper. Sweet and penetrating on the palate, offering energetic red fruit, spicecake and a subtle touch of candied licorice. Closes sappy and impressively long, delivering a solid punch with fine-grained tannins that slowly build. This wine will age gracefully on its balance.
80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. Aged 18 months in old burgundy barrels. Organic. Cask sample. Attractive fruit and flavour with plum and red-berry notes. Quite juicy on the palate with assertive tannins behind. The finish a little chewy and drying but should come round. (JL)
