The 2022 Echo de Lynch-Bages has a strict and backward nose, graphite and flint infuse the black fruit here, almost clinical in style. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry. Quite firm and bold tannins, though the finish feels compact at the moment. Give it a couple of years. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

The 2022 Echo de Lynch-Bages exhibits rich, brooding aromas of cassis, espresso roast and toasty oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and textural palate that's chunky and extracted. It will require a bit of patience.

Blackcurrants, smoky tobacco, crushed stone, and graphite emerge from the 2022 Echo De Lynch-Bages, ripe, concentrated, structured second wine. It has more than a small resemblance to the Grand Vin in a rounder, more mouth-filling style that will have two decades of overall longevity.

The 2022 Echo de Lynch-Bages has held on to its black cherry- and blueberry-scented bouquet. It might need a little more delineation, but it's very pleasurable. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry, gentle grip and quite plush black fruit toward the finish. This is well worth seeking out.
