This was bottled in 2018 whereas the version I tasted in 2017 had been bottled in 2016. One of Philippe Gayral 's finds. Now this amber-coloured wine based on Grenache Noir tastes fresh and attractively sweet with a hint of raisins. It's round and gorgeous. (JR)

The 1948 Rivesaltes has a slightly lighter amber/tawny hue. The nose is ethereal with heady scents of marmalade, quince, star anise and juniper berries that are beautifully defined. The palate is very well balanced with a slight viscosity on the entry, perfect acidity, very intense with quince, marmalade, barley sugar, mandarin and hints of burnt toffee toward the persistent and quite sweet finish. This is a delicious Rivesaltes that will give many years of drinking pleasure. Tasted June 2017.

Bottled 2016. Mainly Grenache Noir. Pale yellow gold. Just slightly sticky. Lots of sweetness and a hint of melted Spangle . Too sweet for me. (JR)
