Score 92/100 · Drink 2026-2043, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2023

From an extraordinarily warm and sunny year but a windy, west-facing site on iron-rich limestone, the 2018 Pinot Noir Heimbourg was aged in 228-liter pièces until the unfined and unfiltered bottling in January 2020. The nose shows charming and generous fruit yet with less concentration than the impressive 2017, whose yield was half as big. A small yield would probably have quashed the 2018 Pinot Noir that opens with remarkable freshness and even a certain lightness on the nose. On the palate, this is an elegant, refined and fresh but still dense and concentrated Pinot with fine, ripe tannins and a long, intense and still a bit dry finish. We can already enjoy this Pinot now, yet it will certainly benefit from further bottle age. 13.2% alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2023.
