Tasting notes
Pure blackcurrant fruit, strong liquorice scent. There's less weight than their Varonniers, but more bitterness to the fruit, leaving an almost painful bite. Suave in texture, but rough-hewn in flavour. (RH)

Deep cherry red. Glorious smoked-meat aroma mixed with dark fruit and savoury spice. Firm, chewy, honest with that smoked-meat savour. Powerful and harmonious. GV (JH)
Spice-accented, extremely primary blueberry and cherry qualities on the nose, along with hints of pungent flowers and olive paste. Round and fleshy but lively as well, offering juicy red and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. The spicy note comes back on the gently tannic finish, which hangs on with strong, floral-tinged tenacity. These vines are a minimum of 25 years old. Fermented and aged in concrete.
