Score 93+/100 · Drink 2019-2033, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2016

Poderi Colla's 2013 Barbaresco Roncaglie is striking. Rich, deep and beautifully layered, the 2013 possesses striking depth and nuance throughout. This is one of the more powerful, structured 2013 Barbarescos readers will come across, so patience is key. Sweet tobacco, exotic spices, dried flowers and menthol give the wine an attractive upper register, but there is no shortage of structure or depth. The 2013 should be terrific with another few years in bottle.

Barbaresco. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Very closed and unwilling on the nose. Extremely tight and closed and with serious tannins that fit the whole. Promising and still very tight. (WS)
