The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Véroilles is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with a beautiful bouquet of cherries, red berries, blood orange, peonies and rose hips, complemented by subtle soil tones and a deft framing of oak. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and multidimensional, it's long and intense, concluding with a finish that's more searingly mineral than even Barthod's Cras this year.
Cask sample. Very dark crimson. Not that expressive on the nose. Just a bit dead. A sample problem again??? (JR)
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles 1er Cru has a very precise bouquet with perfumed, extremely well focused red fruit infused with rose petals. The palate is defined by filigreed tannins, and the fruit gains weight toward one of the most impressive finishes from Ghislaine Barthod, delivering real mineralité and tension. Highly recommended.
