Score 89/100 · Drink 2008-2020, Robert Parker, Feb 2008

Deep ruby with notes of herbs, sweet kirsch, a hint of raspberry, and floral notes, this medium-bodied wine is very much in the Jasmin style, with supple tannins, an elegant, feminine, restrained personality, but excellent purity. It lacks somewhat in concentration, but that has never been one of the strong suits of the Jasmin wines. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. The nose on the 2005 Domaine Jasmin Côte-Rôtie is pure raspberries, flowers and minerals at first but with some air, subtle oak and spice aromas start to emerge. Unsurprisingly tight, but still showing pure fruit, lots of structure and impressive balance, the palate is medium bodied with high acidity that's balanced by a gorgeous, smooth and balanced texture that keeps this wine enjoyable and seemingly high class. Structured, textured and long, this is a beautiful wine that I would love to drink again in 10 years.

Dark red. Perfumed, red berry-dominated bouquet of fresh violet, minerals and baking spices. Fleshy raspberry and cherry flavors are firmed by silky tannins and energized by vibrant minerality. I really like this wine's unadorned, understated personality. Finishes sweet, broad and long, with outstanding focus.

Deep red. Intensely fruity aromas of bright raspberry and cherry, lifted by an exotic floral nuance. Fresh, energetic red fruit flavors are complicated by baking spices and dusty minerals. Finishes tangy, precise and very long, with harmonious tannins.
