The 2022 Clos Floridene had a little dustiness on the nose scented with hints of dark berry fruit and just a touch of warm gravel. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft entry, black plum fruit tones mixed with earthy notes and a little rusticity on the finish.
I am impressed with the Dubourdieu range in general in 2022, and this is again a highly drinkable easy to approach wine, with slightly rustic tannins but sappy fruit that is ripe without being overdone.
The Dubourdieu family produces this exceptionally reliable wine, now in new cellars, in the Graves region. Struggles a little in 2022 to escape the heat of the vintage, and this has high intensity extraction, creamy black fruits and a ton of spice. No need to wait too long to drink.
