The 2008 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has matured extremely well over the last decade. Wax resin, white chocolate, crushed stone and fennel vie for attention on the nose that develops a Chablis-like persona with time. The palate is medium-bodied with very good mineralité , very nimble and poised. Sour lemon and orange peel come through towards the finish that reminds me of Jean-Jacques Carillon. Superb. Tasted at Domaine Direct's dinner at Noble Rot.
