Not an especially intense ruby. Oddly developed nose. Very easy and mild but almost too casual. Easy peasy. (JR)

Much fresher than the Balestard La Tonnelle. Leafy, fresh palate, plenty of spice, just enough flesh. Dry and compact and not very expressive at the moment but persistent. (JH)

Deep crimson. Heady, meaty nose. Strong mint toffee nose. Rich and round and polished and really does seem a good blend of ancient and modern in St-Émilion. (JR)

A sleeper of the vintage, this plump, dense St.-Emilion displays copious quantities of blackberries, cassis, and smoked herbs along with a rich, dense meatiness. Lush, with ripe tannins as well as a long finish, it is the finest Cap de Mourlin I have ever tasted. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
