Perfect Sémillon-dominated dry(ish) white bordeaux drinking beautifully now. Waxy and creamy but very appetising. Excellent with green-bean salad with shallots and a little foie gras. (JR)

The 2017 Rahoul has a simple blackberry and raspberry bouquet that really needs to show more complexity and breeding. The palate is medium-bodied with rather hard tannins showing some attenuation towards the finish. This should be better.
59% Sémillon, 41% Sauvignon Blanc. Lovely waxy lemon that has become more Sémillon with time in the bottle – for me an important part of bordeaux blanc. Rich and broad on the palate but with a lively grapefruit freshness. Very good balance. Doesn’t have huge depth but lots of pleasure and complexity, with more to come. (JH)
The 2017 Rahoul has quite a dense bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit with a touch of truffle, a pastille-like quality coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rough tannin, pinched on the mid-palate with a little hardness towards the finish.
