Score 90/100 · James Suckling, Jan 2022
Zesty, slightly lifted nose of dried lemons, lime peel, green pineapple and crushed almonds. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a creamy palate. Round, weighty finish. 60% sauvignon blanc, 25% semillon and 15% muscadelle. Drink now.

The 2020 Le Cygne, the white from Fonréaud, has high-toned nose that just lacks a bit of refinement. The is palate soft and rounded, but I feel this sample lacks the freshness another might show, so I will refrain from scoring it now.
About the producer

Fonreaud
Situated at the highest point in the Médoc (at a huge 43 metres above sea-level), this estate is thought to be named after a spring on the site, from which Henry II supposedly drank (a “royal fountain”).
