Aromas of dried meat, white truffle, blackberry and hints of leather. Medium to full body, soft tannins. Layered. Very ready. Drink now.

My favorite of the lineup was the 2009 Limoux Domaine de Baron’Arques and it offered beautiful notes of cassis, lead pencil, tobacco and spice in a medium to full-bodied, layered, upfront style. I don’t think it will be the longest lived effort, but it will certainly offer up tons of pleasure over the coming 4-5 years or so. The blend is 61% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Syrah and the rest Franc and Malbec, all of which was aged in 25% new barrels.
