Mostly Merlot (there's 5% Cabernet Franc), the 2021 Château Le Thile has ripe black cherries, chocolate, and a kiss of scorched earth in a round, rich, foursquare style that will drink nicely for 7-8 years or so. It's a richly textured, solid wine.
The 2021 Le Thil, a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, has a delightful, almost Pomerol-like bouquet with mainly red fruit, black olive and light pain grillé scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, well-balanced and smooth in texture. Hints of mocha and black pepper come through toward the finish, with the latter lingering on the aftertaste. Enjoy it over the next four to five years.
The 2021 Le Thil is bright, punchy and full of character. Crushed flowers, spice and red berry fruit are nicely pushed forward. In 2021, Le Thil is quite charming. Floral notes lift the finish effortlessly.
