Tasting notes
Cherries and chocolate and mulberries and vintage bricks. Tannins that feel like the scrolls and spirals of old wrought-iron railing. Tannins that hold and frame the sweet brightness of the fruit, like a balcony holding a cascade of bougainvillea. Iodine and pomegranate. All of Mourvèdre's concentration and substantiality without any of its grumpiness. This is still so full of energy and fruit; no trace of its nearly nine years. (TC)

About the producer

Based in the Overberg, the Beaumont family has been quietly making exceptional wines for over two decades. The family first took over the farm in 1974, but it is under Sebastian Beaumont that the estate’s reputation has really soared, with particular recognition for its Hope Marguerite Chenin Blanc.
