From chalky clay soils, the 2017 Sancerre Les Baronnes offers a clear and refreshing, highly aromatic bouquet of passion fruit and mango. On the palate, this is a dense and textured, terribly juicy and almost creamy Sancerre with good tannin structure and salinity. Pretty loud, though.

About the producer

Henri Bourgeois
Although the family had long grown vines in Sancerre, it was in the 1950s that Henri Bourgeois started championing the wines of Chavignol. The property grew from two to 65 hectares, spread between Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and is one of the standard-bearers for the region.
