The 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has an attractive bouquet with scents of Granny Smith apple, dried pineapple, minerals and a touch of patisserie. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, a pleasant fatness as you would expect from this Grand Cru, though it never quite builds from that promising opening. That said, I appreciate the dab of Moroccan spice that pops out of nowhere on the aftertaste.

The 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru reveals aromas of lemon oil, beeswax, pastry cream and nutmeg. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, tensile and chalky, with a reserved, structural profile. This was one of the less advanced wines in the cellar when I tasted it, so it will be interesting to revisit from bottle.
