Score 91-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2016
(just racked with bentonite): Soil-driven aromas of lemon curd, ginger and crushed stone; much more about terroir than Chardonnay. Plush, fat and deep, with powerful minerality standing in for lowish acidity. This very fleshy, full wine, which took six months to finish its alcoholic fermentation, is almost sweet. Claude de Nicolay planned to bottle it in January.
