Tasting notes
Fermented in 350-litre oak. Barrel sample. More mealy and leesy on the nose compared with the Chenevottes. A wine I would like to fall into. Power and drive here, with less flesh on the palate than the creamy nose predicted, a little more severe on the palate, the acidity very crisp and the fruit weight only just up to it. But should age well. Amazing length. (JH)

Here the nose is quite firmly reduced and essentially unreadable today. More interesting are the highly energetic and intensely stony ultra-refined flavors that exhibit excellent persistence on the focused and balanced finale. This classy effort is a wine of finesse and should drink reasonably well young but reward up to a decade of cellaring. In short, this is really lovely juice.
