The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Les Boucherottes (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) exhibits aromas of sweet berries, cherries, spices and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied and nicely concentrated, powdery tannins clamp down on the finish. I suspect it will round out with further élevage.

The 2020 Beaune Boucherottes 1er Cru is perhaps the one cuvée from this appellation that showed just a little sur-maturité, very slight touches of prune filtering though the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, quite firm in the mouth with a slightly short finish.
Cask sample. Sweet red-cherry aroma. Lifted, vibrant. Chewy, firm, showing its clay soils and needing time for these compact tannins to relax. Yet, this is mouth-watering and brilliantly balanced with this firmer texture and less aromatic style. (JH)
