Tasting notes
The 2021 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard is powerful yet seamless, although it's youthfully coiled and deserves plenty of time to unfold in bottle. It's savory on the nose to begin, with wafts of iodine that give way to fresh citrus and peach. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and mouth-coating with concentrated lime-and-flint flavors counterbalanced by vibrant acidity, and it has a long, flavorful finish. (EB) 95+

The 2021 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard is bright and effusive as it soars from the glass. Yellow flowers, orchard fruit, mint, spice and a kiss of French oak lend notable aromatic presence. Deceptive in its mid-weight feel, the 2021 is classic Hudson in its flavor profile and overall feel. (AG)
A very wild and tropical Hudson chard with distinctive aromas and flavors of dried pineapple, pear and cooked lemon with some pie crust. Plenty of phenolic tension, too. Flavorful finish. Beeswax. Zip of acidity at the end.
Aromas of baked apple, olive oil and dried rosemary. Medium-to full-bodied. The salinity here balances really well with the nutty and citrus character. Savory and long. Refreshing tannins at the finish make you want to go back for more. Chewy, but the tannins melt into the wine. One of the best wines from Hudson ever. Drink or hold.
About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
