The Corino 2019 Barolo Arborina has a dry and dusty bouquet with pressed currant and crushed roses. The wine offers an accessible drinking profile with silky consistency and fine tannins that stitch the mouthfeel smoothly together. There are finely grained or powdery sensations on the close and the alcohol is forceful at 15%. This is a 2,200-bottle release.

La Morra. Mid-to-deep ruby with orange tinges. Lots of ripe red fruit and seductive oak in equal measure on the nose. Much the same on the palate, striking a terrific balance. Succulent red fruit dabbed with oak and with bags of chewy tannins adding contrast on the finish. A pretty wine, but probably nothing for purists. (WS)
The 2019 Barolo Arborina opens with a kick of macerated cherry, kirsch and warming alcohol. Notably, the firm Arborina tannins are very nicely balanced. The 2019 is a decidedly racy, extroverted wine. It will be interesting to see how this comes together. The purity of the fruit is striking, and the wine does improve noticeably with air, yet the alcohol is a bit disjointed at this stage.
