Tasting notes
Potent with spice, the 2019 Barolo La Serra is a ripe ruby color and has a great bouquet of pine needles, fresh red cherries, blood orange zest, and dark mineral earth. From a site that gets more diurnal shift and wind, it has great structure, with ripe tannins, a weightless feel, and great concentration and purity. It boasts a lovely sanguine touch that seams through the wine with nervous energy and is sure to provide a great deal of longevity. This is only going to improve with time. Drink 2025-2055.

The 2019 Barolo La Serra is one of the best editions from this site, one of the vineyards Roberto Voerzio got his start with. It offers up a beguiling mix of dark cherry, plum, licorice, lavender and sage. The darker side of Nebbiolo comes alive in this striking, translucent Barolo from Roberto Voerzio. The tannins are firm and sweeping, but there is more than enough fruit to provide balance.
