Score 90/100 · Drink 2013-2019, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2013
The 2007 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico comes across as ripe, open and fleshy. Layers of extroverted fruit flow through to the juicy, expressive finish. Today the oak is a bit pronounced, but the wine should start to come together with further time in bottle. Readers who enjoy tertiary complexity and Amarone will have to wait a few years for the in-your-face style to settle down a bit.
