Tasting notes
A dark red with garnet tinge, the 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Villa Antinori is harmonious on the nose with aromas of black cherry, baking spice, crushed roses, and licorice. Med to full-bodied it offers attractive sweet tannins, its pure dark fruit continuing through a long finish, and a well-balanced feel. This is a very attractive style that is going to hold up nicely over the next 12-15 years.

The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Villa Antinori is plump, juicy and super-expressive. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, licorice, spice and leather are all dialed up. This lush, forward Riserva is full of near and medium term appeal. Pretty floral notes lift the finish. The Villa Antinori is a blend of fruit from the Antinori family's holdings in the San Sano, Capraia, Cigliano and Tignanello properties.
San Donato in Poggio. ‘Sangiovese and other complementing varieties.’ Deep ruby. Firm cherry nose with dark-spice touches. Supple, ripe, round fruit. Very accessible and easy-going. Perhaps too much so. (WS)
