Tasting notes
Showing a more restrain and feminine elegance compared to the Parafada cru expression, the 2010 Barolo Ornato is a wine of profound grace and beauty. The bouquet peels back with layers of crushed rose potpourri, dried lavender buds, sweet baking spice and tight flavors of forest fruit and wild berry. The wine also shows a great sense of oneness or wholeness, especially on the seamless bouquet. The mouthfeel is fittingly smooth and silky with extremely fine texture. The 2010 vintage awards one of the nicest Ornatos yet. Drink: 2016-2027. Importer: Enotec Imports, www.enotec.net

Serralunga d’Alba. Concentrated ruby with orange tinges. Savoury nose with suppressed fruit hinting at incense and sweet strawberry. Impressively concentrated palate framed by robust tannins. An impressive whole which needs time to shed its masses of fruit. (WS)
