2019 Morellino di Scansano Capatosta

This is one of the headline wines from PoggioargentierA, a wine estate in Maremma that is owned by Tua Rita in nearby Suvereto. The 2019 Capatosta is Sangiovese with a small 5% addition of Alicante. Fruit is from the estate's highest vineyards (where Syrah and Cabernet Franc is also planted). It sees 15 months in tonneaux. This wine was once classified as a Morellino di Scansano Riserva but is now an IGT wine instead. Black cherry, grilled herb and a hint of sweet baking spice emerge from the bouquet.
