Score 91/100 · Drink 2022-2026, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2023

The organic 2019 Chianti Classico is 90% Sangiovese with tiny parts Merlot and Canaiolo from schistous galestro soils in Barberino Tavarnelle. This wine is remembered for its fine texture and the fresh quality of its aromas with dark fruit, earth and plum. This ends with an elegant, mid-weight mouthfeel. This is a production of 40,000 bottles.

The 2019 Chianti Classico comes across as dried out and lacking in both fruit and freshness. There's just not much here.

The berry and cherry character with hints of terra cotta and pine is so appealing. Medium body, creamy tannins and a vivid finish. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.
