Tasting notes
The 2021 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a succinct, quite complex bouquet with mineral-rich citrus fruit, a touch of smoke in the background and white tea. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and well integrated oak. Lightly spiced, it builds in assured fashion to a bright and sapid finish. This is a classy Genevrières that will have more to give. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru contains both Dessus and Dessous this year, which are normally bottled separately. It has a light apple blossom and yellow plum scented nose that needs a little more vigour. The palate is taut on the entry, with fine depth and plenty of energy. It's quite discrete in style but builds in the mouth towards quite a sappy finish. This deserves a couple of years in bottle.
