Tasting notes
The flinty 2020 Saint-Joseph Blanc Les Granilites sits in an excellent drinking spot. The reductive core is neatly complemented by yellow apple, lemon peel, cedar and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied and crisp, the 2020 is a streamlined Marsanne with solid persistence on the savory finish.

The 2020 Saint Joseph Les Granilites Blanc has lots of classic Marsanne quince and honeyed stone fruit notes as well as medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. A mix of terroirs, it’s a classic expression of the variety that should drink nicely for at least 4-5 years, and I certainly wouldn’t bet against it evolving longer.
Sourced from the granitic soils around Mauve and Tournon, Chapoutier's 2020 Saint-Joseph Blanc Les Granilites features subtle toasted grain notes accenting pear and lemon. It's medium to full-bodied, clean, fresh, citrusy and certainly attractive, but it lacks a bit of richness and depth compared to the superb 2019 vintage.
