Tasting notes
Complex layered nose with a hint of chestnuts. Truly beautiful sweet fruit underneath. The finish is bone dry. This is clearly a very ambitious wine that is far from simple. Crunchy, fresh Volnay fruit intensity almost disguises the very ripe tannins. Overall this is a truly Volnaysien delicacy. (JR)

Pretty and perfumed, the 2020 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles wafts from the glass with notes of sweet red berries, plums, rose petals, raw cocoa and loamy soil. Medium-bodied, bright and fine-boned, it's lively and precise, with filigree tannins and an aromatic finish.
The 2020 Volnay Clos des Angles 1er Cru has a floral bouquet, rose petal and iris, plenty of red cherry and strawberry fruit with sous-bois elements becoming apparent with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, quite foursquare and maybe just a little brief on the finish. Fine, though a little outclassed by its siblings in this vintage.
