Ripe peach, honeyed tangerine, spice, and some toasty, brioche-like notes all emerge from the 2020 Saint-Péray Les Figuiers, a deep, layered, gorgeously textured white that readers should certainly look out for. It's unquestionably up with the crème de la crème of the vintage, and I'd be buyer If I saw a bottle.

60% Roussanne, 40% Marsanne. Precise and fresh on the nose. Quince and pear notes. Great precision of fruit. Palate full and round but in balance. Freshness rather than acidity. Should gain in complexity. (JL)
