Rich and exotic and winning. Lots of alcohol and sweetness. A little brutal on the finish but there’s no shortage of hedonistic appeal. Slight hint of coffee – something a little bit dry. (JR)
Deep red. A bit reduced on the nose, hinting at blackberry, violet and minerals. Then big, broad and seamless in the mouth, with highly concentrated black fruit and spice flavors. Shows more texture than sweetness today, but the bound-up CO2 is currently making this very dense wine difficult to taste. This will require considerable aging and should be outstanding.
(vines planted in 1910) Bright ruby-red. Knockout musky nose combines raspberry, minerals, game and a floral nuance; superripe and rather full-blown for this cuvee Then wonderfully sweet but with solid minerally spine contributing shape and finesse. Extremely fine-grained and thoroughly ripe. Finishes with big, broad, suave tannins and outstanding persistence.

Domaine Fourrier is located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate has been run by Jean-Marie Fourrier since 1994, and has rapidly become one of the village’s most fashionable names, known for producing pure and transparent Pinot Noir.
