Tasting notes
Slightly reduced and smoky on the first whiff, the 2016 Vouvray Sec gradually opens to reveal complex aromas of confit citrus, lime, passion fruit and toasted sesame. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and layered, it is strikingly precise and pure, with a chiseled mid-palate, vibrant acidity and a superb thread of gastronomic bitterness. With eight grams of residual sugar, this is one of the most impressive wines I have ever tasted from this estate—combining power, finesse and remarkable clarity.

Calling all acid lovers, the 2016 Sec is a make-your-mouth water style that has the drive of Concorde that carries through the wine from start to finish, propelling the wine forward. This intensely concentrated style is starting to shake off its primary fruit and developing some lime marmalade and nutty, savory notes alongside red grapefruit. Firm, invigorating and long.
