The second wine of Château Beauséjour, the 2016 Croix de Beauséjour offers lots of currants and darker fruits, with a beautiful earthiness and tobacco character. It's medium-bodied, supple, and rounded on the palate, yet has plenty of density and depth.
The 2016 Croix de Beauséjour, the second wine of Château Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse, has a well-defined bouquet of red currant and wild strawberry fruit; the oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin on the entry, rendering this more rigid than it needed to be, though bottle age should soften it. Moderate in length. Give it just a couple of years in bottle.
The clarity and freshness to this is most impressive with fresh herbs and hints of tobacco on the nose and palate. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a radiant finish. Second wine of Château Beauséjour. Drink in 2023.
