One of the more up-front and juicy wines, the 2019 Chardonnay Stone Flat Vineyard has pretty lemon zest, honeysuckle, and chalky mineral notes as well as medium to full body, a bright, vibrant spine of acidity, and a more straight, focused mouthfeel. Despite the higher acidity, it has plenty of supple, up-front fruit and is already drinking beautifully. Like most of these 2019s from Kistler, it will have a solid decade or more of prime drinking.

The 2019 Chardonnay Stone Flat Vineyard is laced with the essence of tangerine oil, hazelnut, marzipan. Rich, oily and layered in the glass, the Stone Flat is a total knock-out. Tropical and buttery notes add an exotic flair that is impossible to miss. In 2019, the Stone Flat is quite extroverted. It's a style that works so well here. Stone Flat emerges from one of the sections of Durrell on a river bed, towards the entrance, planted with Chardonnay on 420A rootstock.

About the producer

Kistler

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
