The 2018 Château de Panigon demonstrates a little reduction on the nose, although underneath it reveals light, slightly briny black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins and decent weight and cedar-tinged black fruit on the tightly wound finish. Fine.

Cru bourgeois. 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot. Garnet hue, light at rim. Simple, brambly, berry-fruit nose and palate. Fruity but firm and dry on the palate. Pleasant if unexciting. (JL)
