The 2020 Côte de Brouilly Les Sept Vignes is aged in used barrels plus one or two foudres , fairly new, which gives a patina of new oak. The bouquet is just beautiful, featuring vivacious red cherries, kirsch, crushed violets and iris flower. The palate is medium-bodied with very lithe, almost saturated tannins, and poised and lightly spiced toward the finish. A gorgeous Côte de Brouilly, but give it two years in bottle (if you can resist).
