Tasting notes
Roughly 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, the 2020 Gigondas Classique Vieilles Vignes accents its charming cherries and raspberries with hints of asphalt, crushed stone and menthol. While full-bodied and reasonably tannic, it also feels silky and almost airy on the lingering finish.

Lastly, the 2020 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes is straight-up classic Gigondas with its darker berry fruits, leather, peppery garrigue, and roasted herb-like aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, balanced, and elegant, it doesn't have the density of the two single vineyard releases but shows the pretty, elegant, classic style of the vintage beautifully. It will last for 10-15 years.
Deep, brilliant ruby-red. The spice-inflected nose presents cherry-cola, raspberry and lavender notes. Appealing sweet red and dark berry, floral and spicecake flavors open up slowly through the mid-palate. Smooth, well-integrated tannins frame a long, spicy finish that repeats the floral note.
