Light-intensity red fruit. Simple, fruit-driven style but there is a sprinkling of oak spice to add complexity. Soft tannins with high acid, light body and moderate length. Holding up well, but no need to keep this any longer. (RH)

Racked the week prior to my visit, the 2020 Bourgogne Rouge is a one-third blend of Hautes-Côtes, Puligny and Maranges-based parcels. It offers vivid red cherry and cranberry scents on the nose. The palate is quite crunchy in texture, in a positive way, and well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Touches of orange zest appear toward the finish. Very promising.
