20-year-old vines from Gilly in a spot that is often attacked by rot so they decided to plant (more resistant) Chardonnay. Aged in demi-muids. Racked 3 weeks ago. The 2017s are going upstairs to tank and the 2018s are coming down to the barrel cellar. The first fruit to be harvested, on 7 September. Tangy lively citrus, lemon and lime, with a fine dusty overlay. Tight and beautifully fresh but fully ripe fruit. (JH)

About the producer
Domaine Fourrier is located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate has been run by Jean-Marie Fourrier since 1994, and has rapidly become one of the village’s most fashionable names, known for producing pure and transparent Pinot Noir.
