Tasting notes
With fruit from the historic Guardiola Vineyard, where some of the vines are 120 years old, the Vini Franchetti 2020 Contrada G has hints of white pepper and Indian spice that frame redcurrant, balsam herb, pencil shaving and spent ember. The wine is tangy and lifted with medium texture and long, dusty tannins. It closes with a high 15% alcohol content. Only 3,996 bottles were released.

Contrada Guardiola. Just mid ruby. A nose loaded with spice over a layer of cool red fruit spiked with stony hints. Open-knit and completely ready and accessible. Fresh, supple red fruit. Elegant rather than concentrated with soft, polished tannins. Ready now.
