Tasting notes
The 2012 Hexameter is radiant, supple and wonderfully expressive. Lifted and nuanced, with sweet red berry fruit, cinnamon, mint, cedar and new leather. A wine of precision and nuance, the 2012 speaks to finesse. Open-knit, expressive and welcoming, with fabulous integrity, nuance and delineation, the Hexameter is the most accessible of Ovid's 2012s and the first bottle I would touch. Above all else, the 2012 speaks to finesse.

A wine of exquisite finesse, the 2012 Hexameter is simply gorgeous. Expressive and perfumed to the core, 2012 graces the palate with silky fruit, lifted aromatics and exceptional overall balance. Hexameter is a distinctly feminine, gracious wine that shows the more elegant side of Pritchard Hill, much of which can be attributed to the significant presence of Cabernet Franc in the blend. Sweet floral and spice notes reinforce that impression on the finish.
The 2012 Proprietary Red Blend Hexameter is a 175-case blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 53% Cabernet Franc and 4% Merlot. It boasts beautiful notes of spring flowers, forest floor, mulberries, boysenberries and blueberries (true mountain cool climate fruits), a deep, savory, concentrated style, velvety tannins, decent acidity and a luscious mouthfeel. This is a beauty to drink over the next 10-15 years.
